Discord Integration Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 3, 2026

This policy explains how the TwitchRP Discord integration, operated by PlayTRP Admins for the community at playtrp.com, processes Discord information for game applications, community roles, streaming highlights, and message moderation.

Privacy contact: PlayTRP Admins — [email protected].

Information we collect and why

When you authorize the Discord connection during the game application process, we receive and store your Discord user ID, Discord email address, and Discord username. We associate this information with your Steam account and application record.

We use this information to identify the correct account, assign game-specific Discord roles after approval, support the whitelist process, send application notifications, including an email when your application is approved, contact you about your community account, and manage community moderation, including bans.

Member roles

The bot processes member role-change events to manage roles for approved members with the relevant community roles. Its role-management logic does not modify unknown or unapproved Discord IDs.

Streaming activity and your choice

The bot uses Discord activity updates to identify qualifying streams associated with our community’s games or servers. It adds or removes a live-streaming role so other members can discover relevant streams in the Discord member list. We do not retain activity data outside Discord.

You can ask PlayTRP Admins to exclude you from the streaming-role feature through our Discord support channel or by emailing [email protected]. The exclusion remains in place unless you ask to opt back in; the bot will not automatically restore your participation.

Message commands and moderation

The bot reads messages beginning with ! to recognize and respond to commands from a configured command list that PlayTRP Admins can update.

The bot scans message text in our monitored Discord channels for banned words, spam, and inappropriate content. When a message matches a configured filter, the bot deletes it and sends the deleted text to administrators in Discord for review. Message content is not stored outside Discord.

In public channels, the bot also checks for images and attachments and blocks them when posted by members who have not been approved to play on our game servers.

There is no individual opt-out from message scanning in monitored channels because the filters enforce our community’s moderation rules.

We do not use Discord message content to train machine-learning or AI models.

Hosting, access, and sharing

We use DigitalOcean to host the systems that process and store the Discord account information described above. PlayTRP Admins use that information for application support, account management, and community moderation.

The integration exchanges data with Discord to carry out role changes and moderation actions. Administrators receive moderation alerts in Discord. The streaming role is visible to other members through Discord’s member list.

Security, retention, and deletion

Stored Discord user IDs, email addresses, and usernames are encrypted at rest.

Account information may be retained for longer than 30 days while needed to maintain your account connection and the integration’s stated functions.

We promptly delete stored Discord account information when you request deletion, when it is no longer necessary for these functions, when we stop operating the integration, or when Discord requires deletion, unless retention is legally required.

Privacy requests and contact

To request deletion or correction of your stored Discord account information, ask about this policy, or opt out of the streaming-role feature, contact PlayTRP Admins at [email protected]. You can also contact the admin team through support in the PlayTRP Discord.

Tell us which Discord account your request concerns. Do not send your password, login code, or authentication token.
